Highest Domestic CTC At MDI Climbs To Rs 32.1 Lakh

The recently held annual convocation ceremony at MDI Gurgaon witnessed as many as 530 students of the PGDM batch of 2014-16 being awarded their diplomas. Information revealed at the convocation by MDI shows that the students of the institute have received healthy offers and salaries in placements this year. 

The convocation ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance, Govt. of India, Jayant Sinha as the Chief Guest and Director General and CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs also widely acclaimed as the Father of Corporate Responsibility in the country; Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee as the Guest of Honour. Chairman, MDI, Board of Governors,Malay Mukherjee, welcomed the esteemed guests and stressing on how MDI has been a frontrunner in inculcating robust management capabilities for both individual and organizations, he wished the students very bestin their professional lives and also requested them to make a difference in the society and country.

Prof. C. P. Shrimali, Acting Director, MDI took the assembled audience through the annual achievements of MDI while expressing pride in upholding the institute’s vision of being a Global Business School of Thought Leaders and Change Masters for Academic Excellence and Continuous Innovation.

Hon’ble Minster, Jayant Sinha motivated and delighted the graduating students with his humility when he said in his speech, “I feel honoured to be a part of MDI’s Convocation. It is a time when we have decisive and primary excellent youth for leadership. India’s growth in coming years is going to be more qualitative in manufacturing and technology sector. My dear students this is the next world and you can be the leaders of this next world, so go forth and transform India as well as the world.” Later he also mentioned about the event in his tweet.

A total of 333 students participated in the placement process, with 237 students from the flagship PGPM course, 61 students from the PGP-HRM course, and 35 from the PGP-IM course. 106 students received Pre-Placement Offers either from their summer internship organizations or through various B-school competitions. This year witnessed a substantial increase of 35% in the number of companies confirming participation for the final placement process.

The average CTC across the three courses saw a 13% increase over the previous year with the highest domestic CTC offered increasing by a remarkable 27.5% to INR 32.1 Lakh per annum.

MDI has a long tradition of producing entrepreneurs and job creators. This year was no different.

“Several pass outs instead of opting for placements, ventured into the world of entrepreneurship in fields ranging from food technology to finance. Our industry-oriented training has been our hallmark and our strategic tie-ups with 60 world-wide institutions are aimed at honing management graduates in the best way possible”, said Prof. Shrimali.

MDI adds around 700 new students to the talent pool of the nation every year and its alumni has been holding the alma mater’s flag high at CEO and policy making levels in the corporate as well as government sector, leaving their imprints on both national and international shores. The convocation ceremony serves as a testament to the efforts taken by the MDI fraternity to ensure the very best of executive education, management research and consulting.  After the addresses by the esteemed speakers, the evening came to a close with the national anthem.
