The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2017, for admission to XLRI and 40 institutes accepting XAT scores, will be held on January 8, 2017.
The Application process started from August 17, 2016. The last date for applying (without late fee) will be November 30, 2016 and with late fee on December 11.
Admit Cards for the three and half hour pen and paper test will begin from December 20. The Test timings will be from 10.00 am to 01.30 pm. The test will be held in 47 cities in India and 2 outside.

Here is a step by step guide to filling up the application form for XAT 2017.
First step is to check the Eligibility Criteria. Graduates in any discipline from a recognized institute or university are eligible to appear in the test. Final year candidates can also apply. GMAT scores are accepted for NRI and foreign candidates, except in Dubai and Kathmandu where they have an option of appearing for XAT 2017.
Step 1: Registration
First time applicants need to register by entering your email address. The link for setting the password will be sent to you by email.
Step 2: Filling up the Application Form
The first step is to select the nationality, Indian, NRI or Foreign. The next step is to select the programmes of your choice from Business Management, Human Resource Management, General Management and Global Business Management.
The application fee for each programme is Rs. 300 which has to be paid along with the XAT 2017 application fee of Rs. 1600. However, if you are not applying for XLRI, skip this step and go to the next section.
Personal
In this part, you fill up your personal details such as name, Email ID, Mobile number, parents’ name, date of birth, candidate category, Gender etc.
Contact
This section is for your contact details. You have to enter your current address which is valid along with your permanent address.
Education
Educational records of Class 10th, Class 12th, Graduation and Post-Graduation stages are to be filled in. Details about institute name, Board/University, Year of Starting and Passing, Percentage and Stream/Subjects studied have to be filled in.
Other
This section in the form has two parts on Work Experience and the Test City. The first part of this section is applicable to candidates with work experience. You have to enter the name of the organization, designation, start date and end date, on the basis of which the duration (in months) of work experience will be calculated.

You have to select the city in which you want to appear for XAT 2017 from the drop down lists. In case you want to change your test centre later, you need to send a test centre change request email to [email protected]. The last date of test centre change is November 30, 2016.
After filling in all the particulars read the Declaration and click on the I Agree check box. Unless you click on the check box, you would not be able to go to the next step.
Uploading Photograph and Signature
You have to upload your recent colour photograph and signature within the given resolution. You have to select the file from your computer by clicking on the browse tab. The photo should be less than 1 MB in any of the file type, namely, png, gif, jpg and jpeg. The resolution of the photograph should be between 480×480 and 1024×1024 pixels.
For signature, the background should be white and in contrast. The signature should be clear, sharp and in focus so that it is legible. The scanned signature should be centred.
The file size should be less than 1 MB and the file types should be among png, gif, jpg and jpeg. The resolution of the image should be between 320×320 and 600×600.
Step 3: Payment
Payment facility is available both online as well as offline (Cash or Demand Draft). In the Online mode, payment options are by Debit Card/Credit Card or Net Banking.
The Net Banking option is available only for IDBI account holders. If you are opting for the Cash Payment, take a print out of the Pay-In Slip and pay at a nearest IDBI bank and make the payment.
For payment through Demand Draft (DD), you have to get the DD made from any bank in favour of “XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT” payable at Jamshedpur.
After the completion of the application process, you will receive a confirmation from XLRI. Take a print out of the confirmation page for future reference.
