Rs 20.50 Lakh Highest Domestic Salary: XIMB 2015 Final Placements

XIMB (Xavier Institute of Management) has achieved 100% placement for 229 students of MBA (Business Management) 2013-15 batch with the highest domestic salary at Rs 20.50 lakh per annum in the final placements. 

The placements process titled Xuberance’15 saw participation of 58 companies of whom 23 were recruiting from the institute for the first time.

While the highest international salary was at USD 34,733 per annum, the average annual compensation was Rs. 12.65 Lakh per annum and the median annual compensation at Rs. 12 Lakh per annum.

The placements drive also saw 15% of students being extended PPO/PPIs from their summer internship organizations.

Major recruiters included CBC, HCCBPL, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, TCS, Tata Steel, L&T, SBI Capital Markets and Idea. Among newcomers were Goldman Sachs, Spencer’s, Amazon, IBM, Citicorp Services, HSBC and IRIS Business.

The students got offers for a wide spectrum of positions in Risk Management, Strategic Consulting, Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Business Consulting, IT Consulting and Business Development.

Consulting was once again a major draw with 30% of the students opting for posts in this sector. Deloitte, Cognizant Business, PwC, KPMG, TCS and IRIS Business were among major recruiters.

Marketing came next with 27% of candidates being snapped up by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCBPL), Tata Steel, Spencer’s, Boston Scientific, Idea Cellular, Vedanta, Bajaj Auto and several others.
Finance sector saw lucrative jobs offers from Goldman Sachs, HSBC, CRISIL, ICRA, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, HDFC Life and SBI.

The Systems sector proved to be another major draw with almost 20% of the batch accepting offers from IT majors HCL Technologies, Wipro, IBM, Accenture Technology Services, Capgemini, Mindtree, Tata Interactive Systems and Infosys.
General Management, Strategy and Operations also witnessed a rise in recruitments. Besides conglomerates like Larsen & Toubro, companies like Amazon, Spencer’s, Tata Steel, TASL, Tata Interactive Services and Future Generali offered lucrative profiles to the students.

Two of the students accepted international management profiles with the highest international package going up to USD 34,733 per annum offered by a an Indonesia-based Market Research firm.

A 56 member batch of XIMB (HRM) 2013-15 also found placements during Xuberance’15 with the participation of 36 companies, 18 of which were new recruiters.

The MBA (HRM) program, designed by industry leaders and veterans, is aimed at providing students a holistic exposure through courses in finance, marketing, operations and strategy taught with an HR orientation along with specialized courses in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. As many as 23% students received PPO/PPI opportunities during their summer internship.

While the highest domestic salary offer was Rs. 20.50 Lakh per annum, the average annual compensation stood at Rs. 11.39 Lakh per annum and the median annual compensation at Rs. 10.73 Lakh per annum

Among the top recruiters were Aditya Birla HR Leadership Program, HCCBPL, GAIL, Tata Steel, Cognizant, ICICI bank, ACG Worldwide, PwC, ITC Infotech, L&T, Godrej & Boyce, Vedanta, Mindtree, SBI General Insurance, Greenlam Industries and Ola Cabs.

The Industrial Relations sector saw recruiters like Aditya Birla Group, GAIL, Tata Steel, Vedanta, and several others. Corporate HR roles were offered by HCCBPL, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Garware-Wall Ropes, Bharti Axa Life Insurance and many more. In the consulting arena major corporates like PwC, HSBC Analytics offered roles to students.
