IIM L PGP Class of 2016 Placements: 100% Students Placed In 3 Days

Sales & Marketing occupied the top spot at 25% in the final placement offers for the 2014-16 Class of the Masters in Business Management (MBM) course at Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM L).

The Institute also managed to complete final placements for its 2014-16 batch of the Masters in Business Management course (MBM) comprising of 446 students, in just three days. The offers included 93 Pre-Placement Offers (PPO), 163 lateral offers from the higher entry placement process (HEPP) and 207 offers from the final placements. The number of lateral offers this year was the highest ever and increased by 23% compared with last year.

More than 160 domestic and international recruiters including Alvarez & Marsal, BlackRock, MasterCard and o3 Capital, participated in the placements.

Sales & marketing offers were followed by finance (22%), consulting (21%), e-Commerce (15%), systems/IT (10%) and general management (7%). Other offers were from market research, analytics, business development, social media marketing and Human Resources (HR).

Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, Avendus, Flipkart, Hindustan Unilever, P&G, TAS and The Boston Consulting Group were present across various sectors in making job offers.

Sales & marketing offers were followed by finance (22%), consulting (21%), e-Commerce (15%), systems/IT (10%) and general management (7%).

For the first time, Avalon Consulting, BMW Group, Kotak Investments and Tata Sky were among those participating in the recruitement drive. International profiles came from Equirus Capital and Olam International.

The FMCG/consumer goods/telecom/digital media sector had a bevy of offers totalling 110 from Airtel, Colgate Palmolive, Dr Reddy’s, GSK, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Nivea, P&G, Pepsi, Puma and Samsung, among others.  In addition to the traditional sales & marketing roles, these firms offered roles in supply chain management, information technology, finance, HR, analytics with some of them being exclusive roles for IIM Lucknow.

The BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) sector saw firms like Arga, Avendus Capital,Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Blackrock, Citibank, DBS, Edelweiss, Equirus Capital, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank and o3 Capital among others, coming up with offers.  The major roles were offered in front end investment banking, global markets, corporate and wholesale banking, market research, trading and operations.

Accenture Management Consulting, A.T. Kearney, BCG , Deloitte, E&Y , KPMG,McKinsey, Alvarez & Marsal, Avalon Consulting,  PwC and Feedback Infra among others made their presence felt in the consulting sector. The top recruiters were Accenture and BCG

The General Management sector saw firms like Aditya Birla Group (ABG), Airtel, Lodha Group and TAS making offers

Amazon, Appsdaily,Cognizant, Commonfloor, eBay, Flipkart, Google, HCL, Infosys,Magicbricks, MAQ Software, Mindtree,PayTm, Shopclues, Snapdeal, Uber and Wipro were among recruiters from IT/e-Commerce/Technology sectors.

New Recruiters and Profiles

43 companies hired for the first time from IIM Lucknow with over 60% coming from the Sales & Marketing, Finance and e-Commerce sector. Some of the other sectors that were represented by these firms were consulting, systems/IT, general management, media and automotive. The roles were primarily in sales and marketing, finance and e-Commerce.

The healthy economic environment has helped IIM Lucknow maintain its status as a top recruiting destination and has attained 100% placements for its largest graduating batch.
