IIM Kozhikode Wins ‘The Most Competitive B-School 2019’ In The Dare2Compete Awards

IIM Kozhikode has won the ‘The Most Competitive B-School 2019’ award in the Dare2Compete Awards followed by XLRI in the second and SIBM Pune in the third place.

Dare2Compete Awards aims to drive and recognize all stakeholders of the business education ecosystem, namely, the students, B-Schools and companies. The Award ceremony at JW Marriott Sahar Mumbai on March 26 included panel discussions on various topics, ranging from innovation to building brand equity to opportunities in big diversified groups.

Participants in the panel discussion included Meghna Apparao, Director, Amazon; Emrana Sheikh, Johnson & Johnson Enterprise HR Head-India & South Asia; Sunny Sharma, Head HR from RB and Krishnan Vaidyanathan, General Manager, HR, Asian Paints. The topic for discussion was  ‘Creating the Culture of Innovation and Driving it’.

It was followed by an interesting conversation on ‘Necessity of Building Brand Equity in Campuses’, which had Rohit T Koshy, Director, EY, moderating. Warren Patrick, Head Strategic HR-Global Wealth & Asset Management from Edelweiss and Sunil Singh, Director Talent Acquisition, Abbott were the other participants.

Priya Kumari from IIM, Ahmedabad was declared The Most Competitive Business Leader 2019. The award was decided on the basis of the medals and stars earned by students, on securing meritorious positions in corporate- organised competitions, over the past academic year.

Priya Kumari had excelled in five competitions organised by Mahindra, EXL, RPG, Bajaj Finserv and Flipkart.

Priyadarshi from IMT Ghaziabad stood second followed by Shaffaf from IIFT, Akshay and Satakshi from IIM Lucknow and Naveen from IIM Rohtak. All of them excelled in at least five competitions with Akshay and Satakshi taking the lead with seven competitions.

The Competitive B-Schools were ranked based on medals that their students have earned. IIM Kozhikode students won 21 medals followed by XLRI Jamshedpur with 20 medals.

The award for the Most Prestigious B-School Competition went to HUL L.I.M.E. Season 10, an inter B-school marketing and business challenge organised by HUL and CNBC-TV18. The marketing challenge was open to all first and second-year students across all B-Schools irrespective of their specializations.

The second place in this category went to Amazon’s ACE Challenge which involves time-crunched problem-solving and live case-simulations. Mahindra War Room (MWR) was third. MWR was for students currently pursuing a two-year PGP/MBA program. The participating teams have to work on the real and live business issues faced by the Business Leaders as outlined in the business caselets available on an App in the first stage of the competition.

YES Bank Transformation Series stood fourth. Claimed to be India’s largest case study competition. In the past 6 years, it has moved from a national level case study competition to a platform for crowdsourcing solutions from students of B-schools and Tech institutes for live challenges faced by businesses across the world.

Reliance TUP 4.0 was in fifth place. The Ultimate Pitch was born as a strategic elevator pitch contest to celebrate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial zeal. The contest which started out with only 16 business schools has currently expanded the base to 55 premier business schools. These rankings were based on 6,000+ votes from students across premier B-schools.
