Wharton Tops QS EMBA Global Rankings 2018

Pennsylvania University’s Wharton School of Business has topped the QS EMBA Global Rankings 2018 with MIT Sloan in the second place and the London Business School (LBS) coming third.

Wharton is also ranked number 1 for EMBA in North America and LBS occupies the top position in Europe.

Northwestern Kellogg is ranked 4th followed by Berkeley Haas sharing the 5th spot with Chicago Booth. Incidentally, Booth is ranked number 1 in the QS EMBA Asia-Pacific Rankings.

With no school in the 6th rank, Colombia is ranked 7, followed by Oxford Said in the 8th, UCLA Anderson 9th and Cambridge Judge in the 10th rank.

The Wharton MBA for Executives, QS says, taught in Philadelphia and San Francisco is equivalent to the full-time Wharton MBA having the same degree, innovative curriculum, and world-class faculty in a specially designed part-time schedule.

The 24-month AACSB accredited program, starting in May, has a class size of 106. The students, with an average age of 35, have an average work experience of 11 years. International students comprise 36% of the class and women students 33%. The average salary drawn by graduates post 3 months is $165,464.

MIT Sloan’s EMBA is a 20-month program designed for active business leaders with a decade or more of work experience. The AACSB accredited program, starting in January, has a class size of 126. The students have an average work experience of 17 years and an average age of 35 years. International students form 73% of the class and women 27%.

The 20-month Executive MBA at London Business School is triple accredited (AACSB|AMBA|EQUIS) in a part-time format with classes held in London or Dubai.

The program that begins in January or September has a class size of 67. The students’ average age is 35 and they have an average work experience of 13 years. International students form 17% of the class and women students comprise 24% of the class. The average salary drawn by the graduates post three months is $154,505.

Incidentally 6 of the Top 10 Schools, actually 7 if you count Chicago Booth that has class facilities in London and Hong Kong, apart from Chicago, are in the United States. LBS, Oxford Said and Cambridge Judge are the 3 UK Schools figuring in the Top 10.

Europe gets a look-in with IESE Business School in the 11th rank. The Barcelona, Spain based school also offers EMBA facilities in New York and Silicon Valley. INSEAD is in the 12th rank followed by HEC Paris (13), NYU Stern (14), Yale (15), IE Business School (16), Imperial (17), Michigan Ross (18), SDA Bocconi (19) and Duke Fuqua (20).

Meanwhile, 2 schools from India, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) and the Indian School of Business (ISB) figure in the Global EMBA rankings at 63 and 79.

IIMB’s Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) is a 2-year weekend management program for middle and senior level professionals with a minimum of four years of work experience after graduation.

Students of the EQUIS accredited program that starts in April have an average work experience of 11 years. Women comprise 21% of the class. The graduates draw an average salary of $42,620 post 3 months.

ISB’s AACSB accredited PGPMAX is a 15-month program for professionals and business owners/entrepreneurs with 10 to 25 years of work experience.

The program, starting in January, has a class size of 71. The students with an average age of 35 have an average work experience of 18 years. International students comprise 30% of the class and women 5%.
