More Than 2000 Applicants for IIMA’s New ePGP Program

IIM Ahmedabad’s new e-Post Graduate Program in Management (ePGP) for working executives and entrepreneurs launched in January 2017, has drawn an enthusiastic response from MBA aspirants.

The 2-year program, that combines online and classroom learning, has drawn an enthusiastic response with more than 2,000 registrations so far, IIMA said. It has extended the last date of application to April 29.

The objective is to impart management education to junior, middle, and senior level professionals and entrepreneurs seeking skills and strategies to take their organizations to the next level,” Program Chairperson Professor Biju Varkkey said.

Participants will receive a diploma upon successful completion of the program. The Institute has also arranged for selected candidates a bank loan facility on attractive terms.

Candidates for ePGP are coming from various industries. We are expecting large scale participation from corporates. The programme is designed in line with our other long duration programmes,” he added.

Offered on an Interactive Onsite Learning (IOL) platform with Hughes Global Education, an online learning solutions provider as the technology partner, ePGP marks IIMA’s entry into online education.

Imparted over more than 600 classroom sessions, the program provides the participants with leadership skills for the knowledge economy, through an innovative curriculum.

During the first year, the curriculum focuses on equipping the participants with Managerial decision making abilities, Leadership capabilities, Understanding of the functional areas of management, Understanding of the economic and regulatory trends, Varied analytical tools and techniques and General management orientation.

On completion of the core courses, each participant will need to choose electives in the various functional areas of Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Operations Management, Human Resource Management and IT Management, as well as cross-functional areas.

Earlier, at the ePGP launch, IIM-A Director Ashish Nanda had described it “as the wave of the future”.

The fees of the programme is pegged at Rs 17 lakh (excluding taxes) for the two-year period.

IIMA has not put any limit on on the number of seats and propose to expand the faculty strength to meet the growing requirements, he added.

While Hughes is already engaged in offering similar programs at other business institutes, the one being introduced in IIMA would be much more intensive and rigorous, Partho Banerjee, President & Managing Director, Hughes Communications India Ltd., said.

We have set up 80 tech-enabled classrooms across 45 cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, among others,” he added.
