MISB Bocconi Catches Recruiters’ Eye

MISB Bocconi, the offshore presence of Bocconi University in India and an international business school in Mumbai, offers a 2-year full time Post Graduate Program in Business (PGPB) marked by small class size but one that catches the recruiters’ eye, both at summer internships and final placements.

Testifying to the popularity of MISB Bocconi’s Post Graduate Program in Business (PGPB) and quality of students among recruiters, as many as 23 of them among a total of 35 companies were first timers. They  mopped up the entire 57-member Class of 2017 for summer internships.

Final Placements 2015

In the case of Final Placements 2015, of the total 37 students, 25 sought placement through the institute. Six of them did not accept or continue with campus offers while 3 left for starting a new business and 3 accepted offer on campus but later returned to previous or other employer.

The maximum earning potential (including non-cash, long term and performance linked component) according to placement figures audited by CRISIL was Rs 1,800,000 the median was Rs 900,000 and mean Rs 1,006,442. The minimum was pegged at Rs 750,000.

In management consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Universal Consulting came with offers. In Finance, several firms including Capillary Technologies, Centrum Group, Edelweiss Financial Services, HDFC Bank, Housing.com, ICICI Bank, Intellecap-13N and Si-Creva.

Marketing and sales saw Askmebazaar, Benetton India, Elica SpA (Italy), Ferrero India, Google India, LG India, L’Oreal India, Luxottica India, SicgilSol, Star TV, The 120 Media Collective, Tulsea Pictures and Vodafone India.

Conglomerates and Ecommerce sectors recruited 5 each followed by BFSI 4, Consumer goods 3, consulting and telecom 1 each.

Summer Internships 2016

In summer internships, the entire 57-member Class of 2017 got placements. Among the 23 first time recruiters were  Adaequare (Excellor),  Alt Wien Kaffee (Austria), Arvind Lifestyle, Capgemini, Centrum Capital, Danieli India, Decathlon, DHL, Ernst & Young (EY), Estée Lauder Companies, Fitternity, Mahindra Finance, Reliance Brands, RJ Corp., SBI Mutual Fund, SOL Group (Italy), Tata Capital, UCSI Consulting (Malaysia) and V-Cloud Fashion Consulting.

Among the past recruiters were bookmyshow, ElaraCapital, Ferrero, Future Group, ICICI Bank, L’Oreal, Luxottica, MSD, Piaggio, Quickwallet, SBI Mutual Fund and Vodafone.

Sales & Marketing profiles were the highest in number based on the preferences the students. They took up offers from BookMyShow, Ferrero India, Future Group, L’Oréal India, Luxottica Eyewear India, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD India), Piaggio India and Vodafone to name a few.

Finance roles were offered with companies such as Elara Capital, Capgemini, Danieli India, Centrum Capital, Mahindra Finance, Rungta Advisors, SBI Mutual Fund and Tata Capital.

International Internships were offered by SOL Group (Monza, Italy) and UCSI Consulting (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) for two students each.

Class Profile

The class has 31% of students from engineering or technology backgrounds while 26% were from non-engineering backgrounds.

While 25 students were in pre-experienced category, 12 had work experience of 13-24 months, 8 were in 25-36 months bracket while 7 had more than 37 months experience.

As far as gender diversity is concerned, the class comprises 39 male students and 18 female students.

The 2-year full time Post Graduate Program in Business, MISB Bocconi claims, “brings to India’s business and financial capital the expertise of SDA Bocconi School of Management in delivering top class Business education, combining strong Indian identity with a global perspective.”
