Final Placements for the PGP 2014-16 batch at IIM Rohtak saw 137 students of the 145-strong batch getting offers in diverse sectors from BFSI and Consulting to shipping and telecommunications netting an average CTC of Rs 11.78 lakh (per annum) a growth of 12.5% over the previous year.
A total of 48 companies participated in the placement, 30 of them past recruiters and 18 new companies. The new recruiters accounted for 37.5%, indicating the high rise in the Institute’s visibility in the industrial corridors.
Among the prominent firms were Arcesium, BPCL, Yes Bank, Idea, Wipro, Maruti, JSPL, Amazon and Indus Valley Partners.
The highest CTC offered was Rs 18.30 lakh while the average CTC of top 50 students were 14.96 lakh and average CTC of top 100 students at Rs 13.18 lakh.
Sector-wise, 21% of the class chose BFSI followed by 19% ITES and 17% in FMCG. Domain-wise, 32% was in Sales & Marketing, 24% Finance, 16% IT/Analytics.
In Finance, students got diverse opportunities in financial modelling, investor communication, retail banking, trading and corporate finance.
Prominent companies recruiting in this space included JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, ICICI Bank, American Express, HDFC, Ratnakar Bank Limited, Indus Valley Partners and SBI.
In Consulting, recruiters included Actuate Business Consulting, KPMG and Cognizant Business Consulting.
In Sales & Marketing, The roles offered ranged from Sales (B2B and B2C), Product Manager, Account Manager and Area Manager to Product Development. Some of the prominent recruiters this year included Amazon, General Motors, LAVA, Maruti, Tata Steel, BPCL, ICICI Prudential, Birla Sunlife, Mafatlal and SBI Cards.
The batch diversity in terms of gender and work experience was reflected in the offers rolled out which were distributed across the major domains of Finance, Marketing, Operations, Information Technology, General Management, Consulting and HR.
