IIM Kozhikode PGP Summer Placement Sees Highest Offer At Rs 2.5 lakh

IIM Kozhikode has concluded its summer internship for its 2-year Post Graduate Program (PGP) with Sales & Marketing, Consulting and Finance sectors proving to be major draws with the 364-strong batch.

Almost 45% of the offers were from Sales & Marketing followed by Consulting and General Management (24%) and Finance (17%).

For the first time, 45% of the students would be working on Kerala Development Projects.

Digital marketing, social media analytics, research & development were also selected by a large number of students for internship.

As many as 119 companies participated in the placement process. Among prominent recruiters were Airtel, Boston Consulting Group, EY, ITC, JP Morgan Chase, KPMG, Microsoft, Mahindra, Nestle, Godrej, HUL and Goldman Sachs.

First timers made up 45% of the recruiters. They included Amul, Britannia, CEB, Credit Suisse, Colgate Palmolive, DE Shaw, Directi, IndiaMART, Kohler, Myntra, Novartis, Piramal Group, Saint Gobain, Sun Pharma and TAFE.

While the average stipend maintained an upward trend, the highest offer was of Rs 2.5 lakh per month. Students also received offers for international locations across several sectors.

“In its 20 years of legacy, IIM Kozhikode has continued to provide the industry with students who are thought leaders and business front-runners in the making. With the successful close of the summer placement season, we yet again prove our caliber and reset benchmarks,” Kulbhushan Balooni, Director (In-Charge) IIM Kozhikode said.

Pointing out that the 20th PGP batch was the biggest till date, he said the process was over in just six days. It was indicative of the increasing trust displayed by recruiters in the quality of students.

In Sales and Marketing sector, major recruiters included Britannia, Colgate Palmolive, Godrej, HUL, ITC, Kohler, Marico, PepsiCo, Shell and others.

Consulting and general management had several prominent firms including Avalon Consulting, Boston Consulting Group, CEB, Cognizant, Ernst & Young, KPMG and Paramount.

Finance saw Altisource, Axis Bank, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Yes Bank among the recruiters.

“The IIM K brand has grown tremendously over the years which is reflected in the faith the recruiting partners both new and old have put in our students,” Priya Nair Rajeev, Chairperson, Placements said. The highest number of offers stood at 13, made by one of the major MNCs, she added.
