IIM Indore Summer Placements: Average Stipend up by 20% at Rs 1.24 lakh

Summer Placement at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore saw more than 20% increase in the average stipend to Rs 1.24 lakh and the highest at Rs 3 lakh.

As many as 543 students, including 447 from the 2-year PGP and 96 from the 5-year IPM programs, participated in the placement.

More than 150 companies, including 60 first time recruiters, took part in the placement process. Among the regulars who returned to the campus were Aditya Birla Group, American Express, Boston Consulting Group, Credit Suisse, D.E Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, JPMorgan Chase and Mahindra & Mahindra.

The newcomers included Amazon, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, General Electric, IMS Consulting Group, Macquarie Investment Bank, Nestle, P&G, Synergy Consulting and United Breweries.

Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Bentley Motors, Cipla, Decathlon, Eli Lilly and Company, GSK, Mattel, Philips, Puma, Raymond, Royal Enfield, Sun Pharma, Vodafone, Google and UnitedHealth Group also came up with good offers.

Finance, Sales & Marketing proved to be a major draw for the students with 32% opting for each. While 17% went into Consulting, 10% opted for roles in General Management.

The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) students managed to bag roles in major firms including Aditya Birla Group, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, L’Oreal, Nomura Holdings and United Breweries.

Recruiters in the BFSI sector included American Express, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, CIMB Malaysia, Credit Suisse, D.E. Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, Fidelity Investments, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, Macquarie Investment Bank, Nomura, Reserve Bank of India and Royal Bank of Scotland.

They offered roles in Asset Management, Corporate Banking, Credit Analysis, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Risk Analytics & Management, and Wealth Management.

Recruiters in FMCG sector included AkzoNobel, Asian Paints, Britannia, ConAgra Foods, Dabur, HUL, ITC, L’Oreal, Marico, Nestle, P&G, Pidilite and United Breweries who came up with Sales & Marketing roles.

Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Bentley Motors, Cipla, Decathlon, Eli Lilly and Company, GSK, Mattel, Philips, Puma, Raymond, Royal Enfield, Sun Pharma, Vodafone, Google and UnitedHealth Group also came up with good offers.

The students also managed to bag consulting roles in well-known firms including Acquisitory Consulting, Avalon Consulting, Backspace Consulting, Boston Consulting Group, Cognizant Business Consulting, Ernst & Young, IMS Consulting Group, PwC and Synergy Consulting.

In General Management, the major recruiters were Aditya Birla Group, Airtel, Cipla, General Electric, JSW group, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Industries.

Operations and HR saw offers from Amazon, Cummins, HPCL, ICICI Bank, L&T, Mattel, Piramal Group, Sun Pharma among others.
