A little more than half of the Class of 2018 at 51% come with an educational background in humanities, social science, economics in their undergraduate majors at the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, an Ivy League research university in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States.
Engineering, Maths and Science majors make up 26% followed by 23% in Business/ Finance. Tuck takes pride in having MBA candidates with widely diverse experience.
Thus, in addition to consultants, financial analysts, and marketers, the class could have engineers, military officers, artists, program officers, community advisers, entrepreneurs, and teachers. Each of the students should have two qualities: exceptional accomplishment and the potential to be a great leader, the school says.
The Average GPA of the 285-member Class (students from US schools w/ 4.0 scale) is 3.5. The average GMAT score is 717 with the Middle-80% range at 680-750.
US citizens and permanent residents constitute 66% of the class followed by Asia at 16%, Latin America 7%, Europe 6%, Canada 2% and the Middle East & Africa 3%.
The Average age at matriculation is 28. Students are in the age range of 24-37. Students with partners constitute 31% and students with children 5%.
Women comprise 44% of the class. International students form 30% and US minorities 18%. Altogether 35 nationalities are represented.

The average work experience of the class is 5 years with 100% previous industry experience. Consulting constitutes 20% followed by Other financial services, real estate at 18%, Government, military, non-profit 10%, Investment banking, private equity 12%, Consumer goods, retail 9%, Technology 9%, Healthcare 4%, Manufacturing 2% and Other 16%.

Tuck says each year with the number of applicants far exceeding the number of seats on offer, The admissions committee has the challenge of selecting a target class size of 4 sections consisting of 60-70 students each. A variety of factors is taken into consideration when gauging a candidate’s application.
