Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar has achieved 100% placements for its 341-strong MBA (BM) batch of 2014-2016 while the highest domestic salary offer touched Rs 20 lakh per annum. In the MBA (HRM), 89 students found positions while 81 from MBA (Rural Management) received offers from Banking & Financial Services, Consulting and FMCG sectors.
Xuberance ’16, the final placement drive at XIMB saw participation of 89 companies, 59 of them new recruiters, wooing students with offers of key profiles in Consulting, Finance, Banking, IT and other sectors. Along with an increase of more than 50% in the number of recruiters, there was also a 40% rise in the number of PPO/PPIs offers to students.
While the highest domestic salary for the MBA (Business Management) batch of 2014–16 stood at Rs 20 Lakh per annum, the average annual compensation was Rs 12.44 Lakh and the median annual compensation at Rs12 Lakh.
Major recruiters included Amazon, CBC, Deloitte, Arcesium India, KPMG, PwC, TCS, Godrej, Tata Steel, L&T, SBI Capital Markets and Idea. Among new recruiters were Maruti Suzuki, Vodafone, Bluestar, Dr. Agarwala Healthcare, ICRA Management Consulting Services and Emamito.
The profiles offered ranged across Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Strategic Consulting, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relations, Business Consulting, IT Consulting and Business Development.
The Systems sector accounted for almost 35% of the batch with HP, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Accenture Technology Services, Capgemini and Infosys among the recruiters.
Consulting came next with 26% students accepting offers from Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Cognizant Business Consulting, TCS, IMACS and IBM.
Marketing sector mopped up 24% of the class with Amazon, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, Spencer’s, SAB Miller, Idea Cellular, Vedanta and Bajaj Auto among the recruiters.
In Finance, Arcesium India, HDFC, CRISIL, ICRA, Royal Bank of Scotland, Tata Capital, IIFL and SBI Group were among the top recruiters.
General Management, Strategy and Operations saw Godrej, Larsen & Toubro, RBS, Tata Steel, TASL and Tata Interactive Services coming up with offers.
MBA (Human Resource Management) 2014–16 placements had 89 candidates participating in the placement process. While 44 companies participated, 25 were new recruiters. A 70% increment was recrded in the number of PPO/PPIs offered to the students.
The highest domestic salary offered was Rs19 Lakh per annum, average annual compensation Rs 11.50 Lakh per annum and the median annual compensation Rs 10.80 Lakh per annum
Major recruiters included Aditya Birla HR Leadership Program, HCCBPL, GAIL, Tata Steel, ICICI bank, ACG Worldwide, ITC InfoTech, L&T, Godrej & Boyce, Vedanta, Mindtree, SBI Group, Bajaj Auto, DE Shaw and Deloitte Consulting.

The School of Rural Management also saw 100% placements for the 81 students of its 20th batch. As many as 25 companies, including 13 new recruiters participated. While the highest salary stood at Rs 11.38 lakh per annum,the average annual salary was Rs 7.21 lakh and the median salary Rs 6.56 lakh per annum.
Among the recruiters, banking and allied services like Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Janalakshmi Financial Services and Ujjivan Financial Services came up with offers. Consulting sector represented by Price Waterhouse Coopers, NABARD Consulting Services, Deloitte, Sambodhi Research and Communication and Microsave came up with roles for both fresh graduates and lateral entrants.
In the FMCG sector, Cavin Kare & GCMMF (Amul) and agri input companies like United Phosphates Limited came up with offers in sales and marketing roles. A significant number of students also opted to work in grassroots organizations and development sector companies like Rajeevika, Care India, and Jharkhand State Livelihoods Promotion Society.
